One way to move your bike from point A to Point B is with a bike carrier designed to mount on the roof of your car (Tour de France style). In most cases you must have a factory luggage rack with crossbars or you add a roof rack specifically
designed for your vehicle. Thule, RhinoRack, Sea Sucker and SportRack are four manufacturers of car racks. Thule is the dominant product in this market. With hundreds of vehicle specific mounting kits, a Thule rack is guaranteed to properly fit your vehicle and is our recommendation to most inquiries. Sea Sucker is the new innovative bike carrier that does not require a roof rack.
A Wheel On Bike Carrier has the bike wheels strapped into a tray. A supporting arm grabs the bike frame, wheel or other area to restrict wobbling side to side. This mounting style eliminates the need to remove the front wheel.
A Wheel Off Bike Carrier requires one to remove the front tire. The bike forks are then mounted to a fork mount and the rear wheel is usually strapped into a tray. If you have a thru-axles design front fork mount, it is necessary to purchase an adapter. The fork mount provides a stronger and steadier grip on the bike.

For the cost-conscious buyer, SportRack offers the Downshift Plus (wheel off) (SportRack S93SR4624), Upshift Plus (wheel on)(SportRack S93SR4485) and Upshift (SportRack S93SR4483) roof mount bike carriers.
Sea Sucker is the exciting new entrant to the sport equipment carrying market (see video link below). Sea Sucker uses innovative Suction Cup mounts to attach their Wheel Off Bike Carrier. No need for a car rack, just a clean smooth surface. The Sea Sucker Talon, Mini Bomber, Bomber, Hornet, and Komodo bike carriers carry from 1 to 3 bikes. The easy-on-easy off mounting system make this a fantastic alternative to what has been available up until now. The versatility of mounting positions, make Sea Sucker the only rack that works when all the rest can’t.
